Car Oils and Fluids

Your car requires several different car oils and fluids to lubricate a variety of systems. This includes motor oil, transmission, anti-freeze, and more. We review the best products available and guide you on the best practices to ensure you get the best out of your product. The world of automotive fluids may be bewildering for those of us who aren’t mechanically inclined; it frequently appears that every automobile system requires some form of fluid, and it can be difficult to know which one is which. It’s also difficult to know when each fluid has to be checked or changed. So, to assist you in navigating the great world of auto maintenance, we’ve compiled a list of articles regarding fluids that need to be changed to keep your vehicle operating well. We’ll go over the fundamentals of each type of automotive fluid, teach you how to check their levels, and offer some basic advise on when to top them off with new fluid. Different types of car oils and fluids are: ENGINE OIL – Lubricates and cools your engine’s internal components, including bearings, cylinders, valve, synchronization chains, gears, pumps, seals, and more. TRANSMISSION FLUID – Greases and softens your transmission’s internal components, such as gears, bearings, valves, pumps, seals, and more. DIFFERENTIAL OIL – Lubricates and cools your rear differential’s internal workings, including gears, bearings, seals, and more. POWER STEERING FLUID – Lubricates and cools the power steering pump, valves, steering gear box, seals, and other parts of the power steering system. ENGINE COOLANT – Lubricates the water pump, cools the engine, and supplies the climate control system with heating fluid. BRAKE FLUID – This fluid lubricates the brake valves, pistons, and antilock braking system. Hydraulic pressure is used to power the braking system. HYDRAULIC CLUTCH FLUID – This fluid is used to engage and disengage the transmission.
