Open Question: URGENT! Son trashed my 96 Olds Ciera when jumping off his car?

I have a 96 Old Ciera Cutlass Cruiser with a V6 engine that I really need to make it 5 more months. My 19yo so was jump-starting his car. I'm not sure where he went wrong, but he created an arc, a small fire, and killed something. My battery is still fully charged. The guy at the auto parts store said it was probably the main fuse. My book doesn't say anything about a main fuse. There are some behind the glove box that 'the dealer' is supposed to check. The guy trying to help me was looking for the fuse link? Any idea where that might be on this car? Nothing under the hood matches the book!! Any idea what else it might be? Could he have caused major damage or do I just need to locate this mystery fuse? Thanks for the advice & yes I know he needs his butt kicked!!

Open Question: I have a 2006 Explorer Sport Wagon, and the TIRE SENSOR light keeps flashing. All tires have correct pressure?

Can i take it to an auto parts (Advance) and have them run the computer on it or do I have to replace a sensor? Where is it located? Thanks!

Open Question: What could they possibly be worth?

2 auto shop books . One is a parts list for 1941-1947 Dodge Trucks (W Series) and the other is a shop manual for the same trucks. The publish date is November 27, 1940. Can/does anyone have any ideas what these could possibly be worth?

Open Question: Wheres the Fuel regulator located in a 2000 Focus?

i get the error code P0190 & P0193 it seems its the fuel Pressure Regulator but we dont know how it looks like ....the lady in auto zone gave us the prices and she said its 239.99 but that part doesnt even look like one of the ones in the engine department....

Open Question: Cheapest way to add acceleration and/or power to my car?

I have a 1996 toyota corolla E110 LX .The engine is an EFI one : 4E-FE It's CC is 1330 so 13l engine .It's transmission is automatic and I don't even have an RPM meter (I wonder why though). Everything is stock... I read on the internet that it is around 88 hp. My friend has a 2005 premio all stock which it VVT-i. It's also an auto car that has a cylinder capacity of 1600. When we pull, it seems he has an edge on me which is weird because i hear from a lot of friends that older model corolla's are known for their acceleration (because of the light weight and the fact that they are EFI models) and that they should have an edge over VVT-i. I would like to increase either the acceleration or the power (or both) but in a not so costly way. I heard getting performance parts of the following would do the trick : -Air filter -Air Intake -Iridium spark plugs But considering I have less money, I was wondering which one of the sited above would give me a better advantage than the other. Any other suggestions would be welcome :) And yes I service my car regularly... Thank you.

Open Question: Knocking sound when Turning Left?

I have a 97 Jetta/Vento GLX Vr6. New axles. New motor mounts. I get a clicking sound when shifting gears and pressing and depressing the gas pedal. I also get a knocking sound when turning left. I think my motor is still moving even though I replaced all the mounts 2 months ago and I double checked the bolts and everythings good. I used OEM mounts and Advance auto parts axles

Open Question: How to remove a power steering pulley from a 96 chevy 1500 350?

I have a 1996 chevrolet 1500 with a 350....I got the pulley removal tool from advanced auto parts.I noticed in front of the pulley there is a hex bolt.Do i need to remove the hex bolt to remove the pulley?If so how?The pulley turns when i try to remove the hex bolt.any info would help.thanks

Open Question: my car sounds like a go car. It sounds like that all the time.?

At first it was once every now and then that it made the sound all i had to do was release the foot pedal and accelerate again and it would go away but last saturday it started for good, I accelerated and heard the noise, let go of the gas, speed up again n it didnt go away. Another thing it does is pull itself or jump when im on a red light or a stop. i was told by a guy that works in auto zone to check the exaust. that that was the problem, to just put a hose up to where it hooks up underneath the car and listen to see if theres air flow, he sayd there shouldnt be any air flow there. Another guy at advanced auto parts told me that it was the fuel pump, that its dirty and it needs to be replaced. Then a mechanic i found outside of O'reilly told me it just needed a tune-up. I dont feel like doing everything and then end up being none of those things. Does someone know whats wrong with my car?

Open Question: Samsung Galaxy S freezes/auto shuts off/restart problem.?

I recently got the My Samsung Galaxy S from 3 in Hong Kong. While for the most part the phone is preforming very well and definitely recommended. The problem is that a random points the phone will freeze momentarily. During which the face buttons do not work, nor does the touch sensitive screen. The only thing responding is the lock/unlock button. These unresponsive moments are exactly that, short inconveniences that have no true overall effect. It is just highly annoying since it happens with some frequency. Some time when charging on power it auto shuts off even happened after a while connecting to USB for charging. Also have removed the battery to fully shut it down, and turn it on. Also the phone randomly instantly shuts off, and resumes normal start up. Help will be greatly appreciated.

Open Question: Can't install any windows updates without computer forcing system restore?

I've recently reformatted my computer due to virus, and now when i try to install windows updates, at the shutdown part, it freezes and auto shuts down.. When i turn my computer back on it says my computer messed up at a shutdown and i have a choice to run "Start up repair" or "start windows normally". Obviously first i chose start normally but it keeps shutting down when i click it. And then it asks me again those 2 options. After a few tries i chose start up repair and it says i have to system restore... I then accepted that and i turn on my computer and everything i recently installed was gone. So after that i paused the updates and created a system restore point right after i reinstalled all the new programs i recently installed. I tried updates again and it still forced me to system restore. I then checked off a couple updates and tried restart, and it still forced me to system restore. I tried google and i really am not having any luck. Please help if you have any idea what to do
